We’re excited to announce that we’ve officially adopted the stretch of street at Indian School and 20th Street along the Grand Canal Path! As part of our commitment to our community, we will be organizing quarterly clean-ups for Arizona Burners Without Borders to participate in.
The canal path is a serene and quiet spot, a hidden gem in our neighborhood that deserves some love. Our goal is to beautify this area by collecting discarded trash and coordinating with the city for clean-up efforts.
We’re grateful to the six volunteers who joined us for our first event—thank you, Jessie, Jill, Amy, Eric, Jim, and Corinne! You all dedicated your Halloween to making our neighborhood more beautiful. Over three hours, we collected a wide variety of refuse, including bottle caps, straws, cans, bottles, clothing, and more.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to collect specific items for future events, as we plan to use some of this refuse to create unique artwork. If you have any ideas for a scene you’d like to see depicted with straws and bottle caps, we’d love to hear them!
